Dr. Brittany Radke: Moving to Minnesota
Dr. Brittany Radke and her family will be moving to Minnesota in March 2018. Dr. Radke has served her patient base here in Madison for five years after graduating from Southern College of Optometry following her graduation at UW- Madison. We are sorry to see her leave Eye Contact, however, we celebrate their success in her husband’s new position as an anesthesiologist in the Gopher State.
Her last day at Eye Contact will be March 6, 2018.
We continue to welcome Dr. Kesha Desai here in Madison at both locations – Eye Contact East and Eye Contact Madison-West. Dr. Desai graduated in 2016 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She got her B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago. She is currently a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She comes to Madison Eye Contact with experience in prescribing glasses and contact lenses, diagnosing and managing ocular disease, and managing pediatrics. Dr. Desai enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband exploring Madison, and visiting her family and friends.
Eye Contact’s professional staff also includes Dr. David W Nelson and Dr. Valerie Vanden Boom. Dr. Nelson sees patients at Eye Contact East and Eye Contact Madison-West and will soon begin seeing patients at Eye Contact – Isthmus in the Galaxie building on East Washington Avenue in March next to Festival Foods. Dr. Vanden Boom sees patients currently at Eye Contact Madison West and will soon begin seeing patients in our new Eye Contact-Isthmus as well.
Dr. David W. Nelson is a board-certified optometrist, an advanced certification awarded by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Nelson graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1985. He graduated from the University Of Wisconsin School Of Business with a diversified Masters in Business Administration in 1991. Dr. Nelson served in 2001-02 as President of the American Optometric Association, a 33,000 member organization of optometrists, following his eight years of service on the Board of Trustees. He currently provides consulting and educational lectures across the United States for optometric colleagues in newly advancing areas of retinal assessment with advanced technology, age-related macular degeneration genetic testing, and nutrition supplement prescribing for improved eye health.
Dr. Vanden Boom joined Eye Contact in 1991 and has been practicing continually at the west side office since. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Optometry in 1990 after receiving a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Southwest Missouri State University. She is a member of both Wisconsin and American Optometric Associations. Specialty contact lenses and refractive surgery consultation, as well as peri-operative care, are among Dr. Vanden Boom's areas of interest. Dr. Vanden Boom enjoys running, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
